Dr. deBruyn is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at the Alberta children’s Hospital, Calgary, Canada. She is a member of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute with a clinical and research focus on pediatric IBD. Some of her past and current projects include vaccination outcomes in children and adults with IBD, long-term outcomes to infliximab therapy in children with Crohn’s disease, role of therapeutic drug monitoring during infliximab induction in children with ulcerative colitis, and evaluation of disease activity in IBD using point-of-care bowel ultrasonography. She is a member of the Canadian Children IBD network, who are currently conducting an inception cohort study of over 1000 children newly diagnosed with IBD in Canada.
